Next to on-site excursions and academic sessions Walk21 Bogotá will feature several hands-on workshops to share knowledge for instigating and measuring transformative change in cities. Some workshop highlights of Walk21 Bogotá are: Pro-walk Organizations: An International Network America Walks, Como Anda and The International Federation of Pedestrians will discuss tools and opportunities to convene an international network of organizations that work with pedestrian mobility. Global Street Design Guide and Streets for Kids Skye Duncan and Fabrizio Prati of NACTO’s Global Designing Cities Initiative will guide a charrette workshop to redesign a street in a child-oriented approach applying the principles of the Global Street Design Guide (GSDG) and its Streets for Kids supplement. The Lost Art of Street Design Australian Engineer and Urban Strategist Steven Burgess will host this inspiring masterclass sharing insights about the art and science of creating great streets and places. Walkability and the Amount of Walking Daniel Sauter and the Measuring Walking Team will host a measuring walking workshop that looks at how the amount of walking is affected by improved walkability.
