Paris approves their first Plan Piéton

January 30, 2017

The City of Paris is again leading the way in creating a more humane and livable city and walking is the foundation of this approach.  Promoting walking is part of the aim of the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, to reconquer public space in Paris and create a welcoming city with sustainable transport choices.
The city's Pedestrian Plan was passed unanimously by the City Council at a session chaired by Mayor Anne Hidalgo.  Congratulations to the whole team - the visionary politicians, the dedicated city staff and the academic support team, and all the people of Paris who participated in the extensive public consultation to form the strategy!
