ITF Summit date set
The International Transport Forum (ITF) at the OECD is a global transport policy think tank and organises an invitation-only annual summit for Transport Ministers. The 2016 ITF Summit will take place from 18-20 May in Leipzig, Germany, bringing together the transport ministers from 57 ITF member countries and leaders of business, civil society and academia to discuss the most pressing issues on the transport global policy agenda. Under the overall theme of Green and Inclusive Transport, the 2016 Summit will explore the importance of low-carbon transport as an essential element in the transition to a green growth economy as well as the changes needed to make transport more inclusive to provide access for everyone to public services, jobs, and other opportunities. Why is green and inclusive transport important for economic growth? What incentives are needed to shift users to more sustainable modes of transport? How should greener and more inclusive transport services be funded? How can governments and the private sector enable innovation and technology in driving solutions? The Summit provides a unique opportunity to involve your organisation in this critical debate. The event also offers diverse possibilities to raise your organisation's profile and showcase your initiatives to a high-level international audience and global media.
